Scripture
Revelation 5:12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
Observation
Chapter 5 of Revelation is about the scroll with seven seals. Initially there is no one worthy to open it. Then the Lamb of God is revealed as worthy. After that, heaven erupts with the proclamation in verse 12 as all the angels praise and worship Him.
Application
Whatever is your definition of "worthy", God's definition is perfection. Someone not stained by sin is worthy. No one in heaven or on Earth or under the Earth fits that definition accept the Lamb who was slain. He is not stained by sin, but stained by His own blood shed for all those who are unworthy. Most of all me. I am the king of the unworthy, or chief of sinners as Paul puts it. Sometimes I think I can give Paul a run for his money on that title. It's important for us to recognize that we are unworthy so that Christ may be glorified in your life. He makes us worthy to be called the children of God.
Prayer
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, thank You that You made us worthy by Your blood. Help us to always glorify You.
Amen
