Scripture: Psalm 8:1-2
“Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.”
Observations:
The Lord’s majesty and glory are set in heaven according to the psalmist. The way that God has revealed His glory and majesty on Earth is through the praise of His children. It is then through God’s children that His glory is revealed and His enemies are silenced.
Application:
God’s glory and majesty may seem to us hidden and difficult to see here on Earth. One day we will see that glory in heaven but now all we can see are problems and difficulties. To be reminded of God’s majesty and power, go consult His children. It is by their testimony that God’s glory is revealed. God’s children testify in scripture and in person. Seek them out during a time when you find it difficult to praise our Lord.
Prayer:
Lord God, Your glory is sometimes hard for us to see, this side of heaven. Help us to consult the testimony of Your Word and of other Christians so that we would never forget Your power and majesty, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
