Scripture: Revelation 21:5
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Observation:
John is describing the vision of heaven that God gave him. In it Jesus Christ speaks from the throne to proclaim to His people that He is making everything new. Then He tells John to write down what he hears. This text is gospel because it proclaims that God will make all His people new without sin through Jesus Christ.
Application:
Being made new is a process that God has already begun in us. It sometimes can be painful as we lose temporary things and hold on to the eternal. However hard it gets, we know that in the end, we will be with Him forever because of Christ.
Prayer:
Lord God, thank You for making me new in Jesus Christ. Help me to let go of the things of this world and focus on this picture of heaven, so that You would be glorified in me. Amen.
